A chronic blockage problem at a railway wastewater pumping station in southern England has been resolved with a simple, cost-effective mixing solution from Landia, restoring capacity and eliminating the need for manual intervention.

Challenge

A railway wastewater pumping station in the south of England suffered постоян blockages. Standard duty pumps could not handle solids from train toilets, leading to reduced capacity, frequent downtime, and manual removal of waste with rakes.

Solution

A simple, freestanding mixing system from Landia was installed. Using an EradiGator with a Chopper Pump and shredder propeller, the system continuously reduces solids before they reach the duty pump. The plug-and-play setup runs on a timer, with no need for new infrastructure.

Results

Blockages were eliminated, the existing pump was protected, and the station returned to normal operation. Maintenance was reduced, energy use kept low, and manual intervention was no longer needed.
