More than 25 years in operation and still going strong

A slurry pump works under demanding conditions year after year. When it eventually comes in for refurbishment, those years of hard work are often easy to see.

At Powerline Electric Motors in the UK, Landia pumps are refurbished after typically more than 10 years in operation. Some of the units Powerline has received were already more than 25 years old and continued operating after refurbishment.

It is a clear example of what long service life looks like in practice.

Built for years of demanding operation

When the pumps arrive at Powerline, they often show clear signs of many years of work. Slurry handling places significant demands on equipment.

Richard Thompson, Managing Director of Powerline Electric Motors, points to the design of the Landia pumps as one of the reasons they are well suited for refurbishment.

According to Richard, the pumps may arrive looking heavily worn after years of demanding service, but their design makes them good to work on and shows that they were built for a long service life.

Powerline has received several Landia units that were already more than 25 years old and which continued operating after refurbishment.

The before and after tells the story

The difference between a pump arriving after years of hard work and the same pump after refurbishment can be striking.

At Powerline, the pumps are repaired and refurbished before returning to service. The transformation can be so significant that, according to Richard Thompson, people sometimes find it hard to believe the before and after photos show the same pump.

But underneath the renewed exterior is the same pump, with many years of operation already behind it.

A long-standing partnership

Many of the Landia slurry pumps handled by Powerline arrive through Midland Slurry Systems, which supplies and maintains agricultural wastewater treatment and slurry management solutions

Midland Slurry Systems has installed Landia pumps as part of separator systems for many years, as well as Landia mixers for slurry pits.

Giles Russell from Midland Slurry Systems highlights the quality of Powerline’s work and the value of being able to refurbish equipment that has already been operating for many years.

Landia also has its own service team in the UK, while the long-standing cooperation with Midland Slurry Systems and Powerline Electric Motors provides additional expertise and support for customers.

Long service life you can see

The pumps in the before photos have not had an easy working life.

Quite the opposite.

And that is exactly why the pictures tell the story so well.

When a Landia pump can be refurbished after more than 10, 20 or, in some cases, over 25 years of operation and continue working, long service life becomes more than a statement.

It becomes something you can see.
