WIA20 Finalist

For the outstanding performance of its chopper pumps at Severn Trent Water’s flagship Minworth Sewage Treatment Works, Landia has been shortlisted for the prestigious Water Industry Awards on May 20th.

Working closely with MWH Treatment, the award nomination, fittingly, comes in the 70th anniversary year of the Chopper Pump, invented by Landia’s Christian Oelgaard in 1950.

The extremely arduous installation at Minworth has seen the Landia Chopper Pumps take legacy sludge directly from 12 digesters, all the way back through to Cambi’s hydrolysis plant.

Alongside names such as Anglian Water, Southern Water and Welsh Water, Landia and MWH Treatment have been shortlisted in the ‘Most Innovative Use of Existing Technology’ category.
